Dr James Hickey is a Consultant Dermatologist.  He specialises in skin cancer and has considerable expertise in mole checks, benign lesion removal, and skin cancer surgery.

His other area of interest is the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory skin conditions, such as acne, eczema and psoriasis.

After qualifying from the University of London, his Dermatology training was undertaken at several specialist sites, including St Johns Institute of Dermatology and the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

    Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that arises from the pigment cells (melanocytes) in the skin. We consider it to be the most serious type of skin cancer.

    The first sign of a melanoma developing is a mole changing its colour, shape or size. You may also notice a new mole.
