At The Clinic @78, we provide GP-led women’s health services from our private clinic in Westbourne, Bournemouth.
Our in-house clinicians have expertise in supporting women with perimenopause, menopause and pre-menstrual syndrome. We offer in-clinic appointments tailored to your needs, as well as virtual women’s health appointments for patients who are unable to attend the clinic in person. Please note that patients must be aged 16 years and over to attend a virtual appointment.
Dr Emily Monks and Dr Jenny Field are committed to delivering comprehensive women’s healthcare. They have both completed BMS training and have worked in a specialist menopause clinic for over two years. They will listen carefully to your concerns, discuss your symptoms, and use the latest evidence-based research to develop a personalised treatment plan that supports your individual needs and helps you maintain your desired lifestyle.

Which Appointment Should I Book?
Initial Women’s Health Consultation
Suitable if you are attending the clinic for the first time to discuss symptoms such as perimenopause, menopause, PMS/PMDD, or other hormonal or menstrual concerns.
Women’s Health Follow-Up Appointment
For patients who have already attended the women’s health clinic and require review of symptoms, medication or ongoing management.
Follow-up appointments are available in different lengths depending on the complexity of the review. If you need to discuss new symptoms, changes to treatment, or multiple concerns, we recommend booking a longer follow-up appointment to ensure there is enough time for a full discussion.

Virtual Women’s Health Appointments
We offer virtual consultations by secure video for patients who are unable to attend the clinic in person.
These appointments may be suitable for initial discussions about symptoms, treatment advice, and follow-up reviews where a physical examination is not required.
Virtual women’s health appointments are available for patients aged 16 years and over. If an examination or procedure is required, we may recommend an in-clinic appointment.
What to Expect from Your Appointment?
Your consultation provides time to discuss your symptoms in detail and explore appropriate treatment options.
Your clinician will take a medical and symptom history, discuss possible causes of your symptoms, and advise on investigations or treatment options where appropriate. A personalised plan will be developed to support your health and wellbeing.
Patients will be asked to complete a women’s health questionnaire before their appointment to help us understand symptoms and medical history in advance.
Where appropriate, your clinician may recommend blood tests, further investigations, or private prescriptions as part of your treatment plan

Dr Emily Monks
Private GP
Emily graduated from the University College Dublin in 2004. After initial training in hospital medicine, including Endocrinology and Elderly Care, and a move to England, she qualified as a GP in 2012. During her GP training, she developed an interest in Mental Health and Women’s Health, completing the Diploma in Medicine for the Elderly (DME), Sexual and Reproductive Health (DFSRH), Obstetrics & Gynaecology (DRCOG). She is trained in the fitting and removal of contraceptive implants. She has significant experience in General Practice, having worked in local NHS practices for over 10 years.
Emily is passionate about providing holistic care to patients. She places significant importance on listening to the individual patient and working together to address concerns. She values continuity of care very highly. She has seen the impact of menopause on her patients and the difference a personalised consultation and treatment plan can make to quality of life. This inspired her to pursue further training in menopause care.
Emily lives in Bournemouth with her husband and three children. In her spare time she enjoys singing in a local choir and keeping active with racquetball, the gym and pilates.
Dr Jenny Field
MBBS BSc, MRCP, MRCGP, DTM&H, DFSRH
Dr Jenny Field graduated from Imperial College London in 2005 and gained her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians whilst working in hospital medicine. She has since been a qualified GP for over 12 years and now works as an NHS GP as well as being a GP appraiser. She has always been interested in women’s health, gaining her Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health and has gained additional qualifications through the British Menopause society whilst working for a specialist private menopause clinic for over 2 and a half years
She is keen on a holistic approach to managing menopausal symptoms and feels that it is important to address lifestyle factors, alongside medical treatments. Jenny is keen to empower women to make informed decisions about treatments based on available evidence.
In her spare time, she enjoys cycling, sailing and spending time outdoors with her husband and 3 children. Time permitting, she also enjoys open water swimming.
